The
PANTHEON is yet another marvel of Ancient Roman engineering.
This building, constructed between 118 and 128 AD, was originally
built as a temple.
The structure measures 142 feet in diameter and has a height of 142
feet and was designed to fit a perfect sphere, the roof of which
follows the Pantheon's ceiling to a circular opening.
The Pantheon became a Christian church in 609 AD and today houses the
tomb of the famous Renaissance artist Raphael.
